ARUSHA
BRUNS

Arusha Bruns was born in rural British Columbia in 1999 and now works and resides in Montreal, Quebec.

She is currently a full-time student enrolled in the illustration program at Dawson College.

Arusha’s primary medium is digital drawing, where she incorporates traditional line art inspired from engravings and then pairs it with vibrant pastel colors to produce a modern, pop-art feel.

Through surrealism, Arusha’s art communicates psychological poeticism and the connection between our bodies and nature. Her most successful project has been the Portraits for Artists series. During the pandemic, she realized everyone’s struggle to stay connected, and that included artists. By capturing the artist’s essence, she created a platform for these talented individuals to be seen and further connected within the art community.
