Marion Sarrola
Marion Sarrola, originally from France, moved to Canada six years ago and is now a proud citizen. From a young age, Marion always loved to draw, and art was her favorite subject in school. Naturally, this passion led her to pursue art studies. She initially enrolled in architecture but found it too technical and sought more creative freedom, leading her to switch to fashion, specifically children's ready-to-wear. This field allowed her to express herself the most.
Marion worked in fashion and decoration for some time but decided to become a flight attendant for a local company flying to the Inuit territories two years ago. This career shift inspired her to return to her creative roots, prompting her to start an Etsy shop featuring her illustrations. Though new to this venture, Marion is learning as she goes, with the primary goal of continuing to draw and let her imagination run free.
I am really inspired by everything and anything. So my process can start with a word, a travel, something I saw on the street and nowadays I love doing drawing challenges! Then I look for inspiration on Pinterest and Instagram to see what has been done on the subject and mix everything to do something on my own. I try to think of something I've never done before but keeping it in my style and I always try to improve my skills. So I draw with a simple pen and a sketchbook first. For me there is nothing more natural than drawing by hand the first sketches even if I rework it digitally by computer or with my tablet. I always try to do colorful, poetic and fresh illustrations
