Jesse Roode

Jesse lives passionately as an educator, arts facilitator, and self-taught artist on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Syilx/Okanagan people. Growing up in the rural town of Debert, Mi’kma’ki, she spent her hours exploring the forest, dreams, and creation. Art remained a daily practice, focusing on emotions, self-actualization, dis/embodiment, and the relationship between mind, body, and environment.

Her process involves investigating consciousness, corruption, and the connection of digital technologies, psychic phenomena, and material objects. Inviting the observer to navigate an inter-world journey of inner, outer, and cyberspace. With a lifetime of experience, she has expressed drawing through pencil, pen, paint, charcoal, and digitally. Their creative work includes illustration, storytelling, print, and zine making.
