Hannaleah Ledwell
Hannaleah Ledwell (She/her) est une artiste émergente née et basée à Tiohtià:ke/Mooniyang/Montréal. Ancrée dans des moments de tendresse et de vulnérabilité, sa pratique fait appel à une auto-observation perpétuelle découlant du fait de vivre avec de multiples maladies chroniques invisibles.
Titulaire d'un baccalauréat en beaux-arts de l'Université Concordia, Ledwell a exposé dans plusieurs galeries montréalaises et est en préparation pour une expo solo à Fais-moi l'art en juin 2025. Récipiendaire d'une bourse du Conseil des arts du Canada en 2023, son travail a été présenté dans le cadre de l’exposition-encan annuel Les Impatients : Parle-moi d'amour ainsi que dans Optimista : Ciné-conférences pour de meilleurs lendemains, aux côtés d'artistes tels que la poétesse innue Joséphine Bacon.
Paige Walshe has always loved to tell stories, which led to her becoming a comic artist and illustrator. While her work covers many genres, she favours bold colours and scenes packed with emotion. From the elegantly terrifying to the silly and whimsical, each piece carries elements of magic. She has been sharing comics online since she was sixteen, including a short story Lemons as part of Webtoon’s 2020 Heart Anthology. Her current projects include a comedy slice-of-life webcomic called Froggy, and vampire drama series Think of Me Fondly.
Raised around other female artists in my family, I soon developped a passion for art. Around the age of 14, I established a goal of becoming an animator. I studied animation at Cégep du Vieux-Montréal and obtained my diploma in 2021. I found out while in college, that I wanted to do pre-production, but limited to the needs of the industry, I had to start with animation. I worked for two different studios, for a total of three years, as a 2D cut-out animator. Due to a lack of motivation and a mass layoff, I decided to part ways with the industry. I began working on my own projects and started building a business with my art. I am more motivated than ever now that I can focus on what I truly love.
